Minibeasts in the garden

This pack offers a progressive cross-curricular way of
extending children's learning in science through physical education and
dance. Gaining knowledge in their science lesson, the children contextualise
and build upon what they have learnt in a physical education lesson though
the use of dance and movement.
The lessons in the Minibeasts Pack Dance pack follow the National Curriculum for Science and Physical Education for Key Stage 1. With some consideration of content the lessons can also be used as the basis for work at Key Stage 2. The music is designed specifically to promote children's learning under the topic of minibeasts and can provide the stimulus for dance in PE at Key Stage 2 as well as supporting the work within this pack. Through the use of dance, movement and imagination children are encouraged to explore and learn about the nature and lives of various minibeasts in a variety of habitats. The pack comes with a CD of original compositions by Robert Churchill. |
