This is a topic-centred teaching pack designed for use throughout the primary
school, by non-specialist teachers and with classes of all ages and both sexes.
The pack is based around a theme chosen and developed by an ethnic dance
teaching specialist. Music, dance and dance-drama possibilities are explored
along with visual stimulus and artistic styles.
Bisakha Sarker has adapted the popular Indian legend of Hanuman the cheeky
monkey god for school dance lessons. Outstanding and original tabla and sitar
compositions on the two CD's provided with the pack, interweave with Bisakha's
own dance development programme to make a package ideal for schools and
non-specialist teachers.
The pack includes a dance development plan, two CD's, teacher cue cards and a
large full colour wall poster.
